Epson Perfection v500 Photo Installation with Ubuntu Linux 7.10

Tested on Ubuntu Linux 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon (working). (2009-04-08)

Other Ubuntu versions are available as well.

Be sure that the scanner is switched off and that the USB cable is disconnected from the pc.

Execute the following commands in your terminal.

Connect the USB cable of the scanner with the pc and switch the scanner on. You can now start XSane or Image Scan! from the GNOME Graphic Application Menu.
